We are currently recruiting a Head of HSE for our UK-wide business, ideally based at our Birchwood, Warrington office and we are offering a competitive salary for this full-time position.


In this role, you will lead the Certas Energy HSE Business Partner in driving a preventative culture and facilitate the development of a world class safety culture in pursuit of Safety F1rst.

As the Head of HSE you will have strong leadership skills and a consultative approach, ensuring stakeholders are kept fully informed about issues that affect HSSEQ performance and operate effective customer service through direct communication with teams and departments

Operating in the fuel industry, safety is paramount to everything we do at Certas Energy.

Where experience in the fuel industry is beneficial, it is not essential. We are looking for you to be a great leader, capable of driving continual improvements in a multi -site, multi-activity environment, developing processes and initiatives to actively support the reduction of incidents, injuries and promotion of good occupational health practices, with clear focus on results and delivery. Excellent decision-making skills is essential with great commercial awareness and you should have depth in experience when influencing stakeholders.


You should hold a NEBOSH diploma, or university degree in a relevant subject matter with an IOSH membership.

We employ 2,500 colleagues based across our depots around the UK from the highlands of Scotland to the Channel Islands. We recruit sales people to sell our fuel, oils and lubricants as well as drivers to deliver the products to our customers who may be individual home owners, farmers, small or large businesses! Also essential to our business are our management teams and colleagues within, Marketing, HR, Finance, IT, Health and Safety and Legal. In addition, we have a dedicated team of service engineers who work within Team Energy.
