Credit Support Controller

We currently have a vacancy for a Credit Support Controller in our Larbert office, to assist in the review and control of risk exposure on behalf of the company within the guidelines determined by the agreed credit terms.  Promoting good customer service whilst embracing a continuous improvement culture with an aim of protecting the company’s position with regard to reducing risk exposure by following good practise policies.

Certas Energy is the largest independent distributor of fuels and lubricants in the UK. Employing in excess of 2500 people, we have locations spread across the mainland, the Scottish Islands, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and the Isle of Wight

Responsibilities:

  • Understand Credit Insurance Policies and work within Certas Credit Policy with the relevant Credit Insurance Company
  • Process all CAFs to completion and action all annual and monthly credit limit reviews as required
  • Action all increase & review requests within allocated timescale for specified brands and action daily all limit notifications from insurers
  • Run and analyse credit status reports in line with current insurance policies and procedures, setting credit limits accordingly
  • Ensure accounts are cross checked across brands confirming and monitoring exposure ensuring relevant insurance aggregates are not breached
  • Request and obtain information from customers in order to justify and maintain credit limits
  • Liaise with Insurers and Insurance brokers as required, building and maintaining good relationships  
  • Liaise with sales staff and senior management regarding credit limits and withdrawals to bring to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Lead by example in delivering ‘Best in Class’ service by taking ownership of customer issues, identifying potential problems and implementing solutions or liaising with internal or external colleagues to ensure timely resolution
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to guarantee continued loyalty, ensuring customer requirements are met in a courteous and professional manner at all times
  • Resolve customer enquiries in relation to their accounts and credit terms in an efficient and timely manner

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Effective team player demonstrating a positive attitude and willingness to take ownership and accountability
  • Confidence in own ability with a high degree of self-motivation, high productivity and good performance outputs   
  • Ability to identify and develop opportunities to improve performance  
  • Financially astute with commercial acumen and attention to detail
  • Customer focussed with good interaction skills and excellent sense of customer service values to treat all customers fairly
  • Key influencer with highly effective negotiation and communication skills
  • Target and solution driven, with good organisation skills and ability to prioritise
  • Ability to analyse credit status reports   
  • ICM Membership desirable  
  • Good Microsoft Office skills required
