FAQs

1. How do I apply for a vacancy?

In the first instance go to the Job Board section of the website and look for a vacancy using the search fields. To apply for a vacancy, you will need to register on the site. Once you have done so you can apply using the 'Apply' button on the vacancy details page. Please note that you must apply for all vacancies online as we cannot accept emailed or paper CVs.

2. How do I register?

Use the link 'Register' on the navigation bar on the Job Board page. This will then take you through a simple form to complete the process.

3. I have forgotten my Username / Password. What do I do?

On the job board page in the 'Your Account' section click on the 'Forgotten Your Details?' link. From this page you can enter your email address and select whether to have your username or password sent to you. Then click on 'Retrieve Details' and an email will be sent to the email address you first used to register with us.

4. I am looking for a job which you are not currently advertising. Can I send my CV anyway?

We ask all candidates to apply for advertised positions only, as the Data protection laws mean that we are unable to receive and store CVs sent speculatively. This also ensures you can track the progress of your application and that you can set up job alerts so you are the first to know about new vacancies.

5. How can I check the status of my application?

Log in to your account and you will see all your job applications on the left hand side of the screen. By clicking the Job Title you will be able to view the status of your application. We aim to provide feedback through the online system within two weeks of the closing date. Due to the volume of applications received we are not always able to provide detailed feedback as to why your CV has not been shortlisted.

6. What should I expect during the interview process?

The interview process is one of our best opportunities to get to know you, and for the candidate to get to know our people and our business. In most cases, candidates will meet with the Hiring Manager or sometimes with other team members.

You’ll be asked questions about your academic and work experiences, as well as being asked competency based questions. It will be most helpful for you to know in advance about Certas Energy and DCC.

Further information about Certas Energy can be found at:  www.certasenergy.co.uk/corporate/corp-about-us

It would be useful for you to think in advance about what value you think you could bring to our business and be prepared to offer examples of your past achievements or successes.

7. What roles are available for university graduates?
